3 month old Cuckoo Marans Rooster .

Cuckoo Marans are a very dark egg layer,
this young pullet is 3 months old.
|
|
Marans
are some of the darkest egg layers available. The
dark
coloring is sprayed on as the egg passes thru the oviduct.
This is different from other egg layers where the coloring is actually
part of the shell. I selective breed my Marans to get the darkest
coloring possible.
Temperment
of the Marans are fantastic, they are a very calm bird who does not
pick on other chickens, never pulling feathers and always first to
greet you during chore time.
